Appraisal Process
Log into Avanti portal via www.cypressfivestar.com
Go to personal tab,and click on “Appraisal History”
Using the drop down menu or left and right arrows, choose the employee you would to complete the appraisal on, and click on the blue “+ Insert Appraisal” button as seen below.
This will bring you to a blank appraisal screen, here are a couple of important points:
You will need to fill in the Review Date, Position, Location, and reviewer notes if applicable. DO NOT use Completed Date, or Next Review Dates
At the bottom of the page, there are “apply, “ok”, and “cancel” buttons.
Whenever you do any work or complete a tab of the appraisal you always want to make sure you click on the “apply” button, this will save your work, THERE IS NO AUTO-SAVE FUNCTIONALITY.
If you want to redo your work, or are not happy with something, you can always cancel.
Before leaving your work, you always want to click on the “ok” button, this will also make sure your entire appraisal is saved. The ok button also exits you from the appraisal after saving the information.
You then need to click on the drop down menu named “Review Type”, there are 3 types of reviews broken out by brand
Salaried Manager V1.0 (Area Operations Managers, General Managers, and Assistant General Managers) 5-tabs for review.
Hourly Shift Leader V1.0 (All Shift Leaders) 4-tabs for review.
Hourly Team Member V1.0 (All Hourly Team Members) 4-tabs for review.
Once you have chosen the review you are going to do on the employee, you need to click apply. When you click apply the review tabs will formulate. Before clicking on review, you should only see 3 tabs (Review Info, Action/Rating, and Documents). Once you choose the review and apply, depending on the review you will see more tabs. Your screen should look something like this.
You are now ready to start filling out the tabs.
For both the shift leader and hourly team member reviews, please make overall comments on the section, and use the drop downs for each performance item to populate a score.
The notes section is there for you to add additional comments about the overall section
The drop downs are pre-populated, and use the same scoring metrics for each item.
The ratings can be seen to the right of this, and are to show how often they perform the performance metric, and to demonstrate to the employee if the performance metric is a weakness or a strength.
Once you have completed all the performance metrics for the tab and completed your comments, click apply!
You then need to complete all remaining tabs, before going to the “action\rating tab”.
RATING: This is a score that you will populate via the drop down to match the total rating value.
For example on the right you will see this person achieved a 63.75% total rating value, that would would be a “Exceeds Expectations” for the rating. You are matching there Total Rating Value to their Rating.
You will also need to add objectives for the employee to work on between now and the next appraisal. These can be training goals, financial goals, etc.
Once complete please click APPLY.
Finally once you have completed all tabs, and entered in your notes, the overall rating, objectives, and reviewer notes, you are ready to notify your supervisor that your appraisals are ready for review. Please let them know via EMAIL to go in and review the appraisals.
The “Completed Date” and “Next Review Date” is only to be completed by the supervisor, and its the approval process currently for the reviews.
Once the supervisor has approved and put in a “completed date” and “next review date” for the appraisal, it will then upload into the employees profile 24 hours later.
Remember once you pick a rating, the value will populate automatically!
